Alhma Mater nace en 2007 tras la disolución de la banda de Heavy Metal, Lagash. Actualmente está compuesta por Juanma (Voz) y Jorge (Guitarra). Es a mediados de 2008 cuando su primer album comienza a tomar forma. Bautizado con el nombre de Heurística (Del gr. εuρiσκειν, hallar, inventar), este primer trabajo pretendía recoger el legado de Lagash para llevarlo un paso más allá. Con influencias desde el metal clásico hasta el progresivo este primer álbum fue la consecuencia natural de “El Sueño y La Traición”. Ahora con el segundo trabajo "Nova Era" (2011), más elaborado y maduro, Alhma Mater sigue evolucionando y tratando de dar otra vuelta de tuerca a su música.

Alhma Mater was born in 2007 from the ashes of heavy metal band Lagash. Its current members are Juanma (vocals) and Jorge (guitar). In the middle of 2008 their first album begins to take shape. Baptized as Heurística (from the greek εuρiσκειν, to find, to invent), this piece of work aims to resume the legacy of Lagash and take it one step further. With influences ranging from classic metal to progressive, this album was the natural consequence of “El Sueño y La Traición”. Now, this second piece of work "Nova Era" (2011), more elaborated and mature, Alhma Mater keeps on evolving and trying to take its music to another level.
