Biografía
Elffor es una banda de Black Metal Sinfónico/Ambiental originaria de Vizcaya. Nace a finales de 1995 y actualmente está formada por un solo integrante: Eöl. La banda nace como un proyecto de Eöl quien toca en otras bandas de black metal (Suffering Down y Numen), creando un ambiente oscuro y medieval con su música, inspirada por los misteriosos y ancestrales ecos de desoladas tierras. Y deja rienda suelta a su teclado transportándonos así con su ambiente tintado del folk euskaldun.
Su primer disco, titulado Into the dark forest… fue auto producido por la banda en septiembre de 1998, grabado en los estudios Suffering. Este disco es el más ambiental de la banda, 7 piezas de oscuros tonos ambientales, ritmos medievales, ecos arcanos y voces de ultratumba conforman este disco de poco más de media hora de duración.
Para septiembre del año 2002 producen su segunda producción, Son of the shades cambia un poco el estilo de la banda orientándola más al black metal y a melodías más sinfónicas y profundas, definitivamente es uno de los mejores albums de Black Metal Ambiental que he escuchado, 8 tracks que suman casi 45 minutos de duración.
Su tercer disco From the throne of hate fue producido en el año 2004, compuesto por 8 piezas ricas en instrumentos sinfónicos a base de sintetizadores, fuertes guitarras y la calidad que ha mantenido Elffor en sus producciones.
en el año 2006, titulado Unblessed Woods, marcando un ritmo más agresivo aún conserva el estilo de Black Metal Ambiental que caracteriza a la banda.
Originalmente la banda produjo sus discos por su cuenta, lo que llevó a producir muy limitadas copias hoy día casi imposibles de conseguir, finalmente firmaron contrato con la alemana Northern Silence Productions en el año 2006, volviendo a producir sus discos con tracks extra, estas nuevas versiones son ahora más fáciles de obtener.
En el 2007 sale a la luz Into The Dark Forest y es la version alternativa del disco del mismo nombre que fue lanzado en 1998. En 2008 ocurre lo mismo con Son of the Shades y From the Throne of Hate...
En 2010 sale Frostbitten Pain. Este es el quinto disco de este músico vasco; un disco que tiene varios elementos que lo diferencian de los anteriores de forma notable, sólo tiene 5 temas, pero de muy largo desarrollo, y la música además de ser más desgarradora es algo más agresiva que en los anteriores discos, con elementos más blackmetaleros que destacan por encima de los teclados. Su último trabajo es Heriotz Sustraiak editado en 2012.
